Welcome to SLIGHT OF FIST featuring the martial magic of sifu Steven F. Zeigler (protege of the Amazing James Randi and disciple of Grand Master Chris Chan). Zeigler was a featured performing magician throughout the US and Europe during the 1970s and 80s before virtually disappearing from the public eye to pursue his interests in martial arts, music and mountaineering. He holds diplomas from the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS), the Dick Grove School of Music and the U.S. Wing Chun Academy. Sifu Zeigler is a Hawaii State licensed secular Reverend. He is also the founder of Wing Chun Club International with chapters growing in Hawaii, California and Colorado.

NEWS UPDATE:

05/20/08 - The Fatty Woodlawn site is back up on myspace.com/fattywoodlawn. I'm using the site as my main musical presence on the web with links to other musical projects. There's plenty to listen to for free but I've also got new and old stuff up for just .99 a download. You can preview clips before purchasing them. I've also added video (below) of my old magic routine and some of my favorite magicians past and present. BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE! You'll also notice I've added a playlist of "The Making of Lizard Boy". The final shoot is coming up in July and should be blast.

The Grand Master Chan trip has been postponed til the second week in June. This is a very special trip and all WCCI chapter members are encouraged to attend this 3 day event in San Francisco.

05/04/08 - My newest tunes are up and available for download! Check them out at stores.lulu.com/stevenfzeigler where you can listen to a sample of the song before you download it to your iPod or similar device! If I get enough time I'll put my whole library of songs up. But for now it's wise to see how lulu.com fares in the music distribution biz. Good luck Lulu.

The Humboldt Wing Chun Kung Fu Academy is up and running. The floor and mirrors were installed in time for our grand opening. The G.O. went well and the academy picked up a couple more students from the event. Afterwards I played some music with a couple of the other students. It was a sort of surprise Kung Fu jam. The Placerville and Golden Chapters of Wing Chun Club International are still working hard on establishing schools in their region. I'm really pushing for their success. Good luck girls... and guys! NOTE: Wing Chun Club International will be conducting a field trip to San Francisco to visit Grand-Master Chris Chan this May 27th - 30th. If you want to participate in this event contact us ASAP! It will also be Peter's (of Germany) training party of sorts.

The Command Performance Act I is still in the "works in progress" mode. Due to the internet and youtube.com I have become very secretive about what I'm working on in magic these days. My whole routine will have to be documented and copyrighted before I can even promote what I'll be doing. So until then I'll have to keep everyone in mystery. The magic will continue...

The 600 mile Colorado Trail hike is still on. It seems that the heavy snow has given us a mid july start date. Not much to report other than I'm excited and really hope we're ready when the golden time comes... soon! We still don't have our tent or bags!@#$

The Lizard Boy film is in production and there is plenty of video on the youtube.com/trailpygmy site. Next shoot starts in the beginning of July.

02/07/08 - Humboldt Wing Chun Kung Fu Academy has postponed their grand opening til April 18th. Next week the mirrors will be installed and the following week the floors are to be installed. With any luck our custom wooden dummy will have arrived from China in time for the opening. Stay in tune for more.

Wing Chun Club (Placerville Chapter) has scheduled a special Master's Seminar April 11th, 12th and 13th. If you are in the Tahoe area be sure to sign up for this very intensive seminar.

A Letter From sifu Steven F. Zeigler - Aloha everybody! The past few years have been very exciting to say the least... death defying sounds more appropriate. If you've followed my hiking journals you have a slight idea of what I mean. This is a point in my life that I've been looking forward to for a long time. Wing Chun has given me the strength to return to several disciplines and to explore their riches with even greater appreciation than I could ever have imagined. I'm almost overwhelmed but my excitement supersedes the extreme challenge I've laid ahead for myself and my team. Every day I am creating so much new magic it's hard to remember it all. In a couple of days I'll be going "home" to Hawaii but will be leaving again for California to teach Wing Chun and to shoot the movie Lizard Boy. The holy trinity of Wing Chun, Magic and Lizard Boy will engross me up until the summer takes me away to hike the Colorado Trail. Work hard-play harder. Mahalo for coming to my Slight Of Fist site. 01/17/08 - SLIGHTOFFIST.COM is born on this day around 1 pm here in wonderful Arcata California in Humboldt county. The SLIGHT OF FIST COMMAND PERFORMANCE ACT I is in the chute and ready for booking. It is a classy traditional manipulation magic act with a few clever new twists. This act is suitable for all audiences ages 3 and up. Production runs aprox 20 min and costs $1,500. Locations 100 miles beyond performer must include travel and lodging. Contact us for more info.

ALSO ON THIS DAY the Humboldt Wing Chun Kung Fu Academy is now located at it's new home on I street and Samoa in Arcata California. The training sessions officially begin January 21st and the grand opening will be Friday Feb 1st at 6 PM. Currently new wood floors, mirrors and the wooden dummy are being installed hopefully in time for the grand opening. Mark this event on your calendar!
